I tried the electronic download of C++ Builder 2007 Enterprise Upgrade and
got to the screen where it asks for the product key.

I tried several of the different product keys that we purchased but I get
the following message dialog every time I click "Next".

Runtime Error in Setup Script
Line 1580 general setup error
RAD Studio Installware Wizard.

What must I do to get the BDS2007 Enterprise RAD Studio installed?

Well, I think I got past this problem.

I moved my "Install" folder from the C: drive to the D: drive when my XP
system boots from.

I also deleted the CodeGear directory from D:\Program files directory.

I am not sure which of these two things made the error message go away.

I got the activation file downloaded and started up the compiler. I got a
load error that I think is because I did not install Rave Reports.

Failed to load IDE add in 'D:\Program
Files\CapableObjects\ECO\4.0\design\BDS\Eco.BdsLoader.dll'.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
Additional Information: Could not load file or assembly
'Borland.Studio.ToolsAPI, Version=11.0.5000.9245, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=91d62ebb5b0d1b1b' or one of its dependencies. Exception from
HRESULT: 0x80131052

I checked the "Remove/Disable this Assembly" for Grins and Giggles.

I started Modify, Repair Install and clicked on "Modify" and then clicked
"Next". I keep getting an Invalid serial number message dialog and have to
terminate the InstallAware Wizard with Task manager.

The IDE came up and a dialog came up to download Update 3. ( Im a bit
nervous now because I see the "InstallAware" Wizard which I have come to
believe means "point gun at foot and pull trigger". )

It actually installed the update and no error messages, yeah.

Update 3 is a mighty hefty update. About like installing a whale into the
kiddie pool.

Help files were updated but still no information on AnsiString.

Im off to play with the new toy.

Update 3 did make the repeating serial number problem with Modify, Rapair
and Install go away.
